About us

Founded in 2005, Fractalgarden is a company comprised of truly special individuals with 20 years of experience in developing advanced web applications and, for over 10 years, also in designing microelectronics products and firmware.

Today, Fractalgarden is the ideal technological partner to carry out complex and ambitious entrepreneurial projects that place technology as the key to their success. Fractalgarden not only guarantees the objective but also demonstrates it through what has already been achieved in its history, also participating at the corporate level in new start-ups, believing in them, and investing directly in them.

In every new project, in addition to all the experience and technological pragmatism acquired over the years with an entrepreneurial approach (not as consultants), we typically add a secret ingredient: passion.

Typically, Fractalgarden serves as an initial boost for a few years, deploying from day zero a senior team that is already cohesive, organized, and well-coordinated, ready to hit the ground running. The team usually consists of a CTO, a Scrum Master, and senior developers/architects.

During the startup’s growth, Fractalgarden coordinates and promotes the creation of an internal development team within it so that the new company gradually becomes more independent. Once it reaches maturity, Fractalgarden is proud to see the creature take flight, and we are free to begin a new ambitious adventure.

Fractalgarden

HISTORY.

In its early years, Fractalgarden entered the market as a software house providing consulting services in the development of custom web applications and e-commerce (without pre-made frameworks). We started with Adobe ColdFusion as the server-side language, and then individuals with extensive Java expertise joined the team. After an experimental period of duality, the company felt the need to standardize skills and methodologies. After extensive assessment at the time, it was decided to migrate to agile practices and Ruby on Rails.

A pragmatic, agile, and fast choice that proved to be successful for our reality of a relatively small and fitting team for the typical target of our clients (typically visionary entrepreneurs). To our clients, we have always offered not only the ability to develop code but also to take care of the entire business idea.

We have always spontaneously taken on the role of coordinators for the entire technological project, researching and suggesting improvements to the business model.

In a turnkey perspective, we naturally also took care of the ordinary management and maintenance of the application and infrastructure, offering hosting services in a Linux environment on VMware, with the deployment of Cisco firewalls and HP servers and SANs located in dedicated data centers (for the mere provision of space, power, and connectivity).

Since 2017, we have definitively abandoned physical infrastructure and migrated the entire infrastructure to the AWS environment, acquiring all the necessary know-how in the process.

Finally, we have a small team of 3 systems administrators who historically have always assisted our clients in designing and maintaining their computer networks, taking care of their security and network servers.

The Evolution.

Over the years, Fractalgarden has evolved from being a consultant for third parties to being a producer of its own projects to bring to the market.

In this new role, it has almost entirely eliminated pure consulting services, shifting all its energy to projects in which it participates as a partner.

Project participation can vary greatly, depending on the nature of the project itself. We have some projects entirely conceived, financed, and implemented by Fractalgarden, such as OTP Service and Ermes Monitor, while others in which we are co-founders and in which we oversee the entire technology division, being present with a complete team composed of a CTO, scrum master, and senior developers.

The space.

The headquarters are located in an area of Sesto San Giovanni within an industrial redevelopment context on the outskirts of the former Falck area, where work has begun to place the new Milano Città della Salute.

The building is a former sugar silo of Eridiana, completely renovated. The offices occupy nearly 500 square meters where special attention has been given to providing tools and an atmosphere to foster creativity and encourage teamwork and team building. For example, more than 30 square meters of whiteboards are distributed throughout the various rooms, perfect for brainstorming and exchanging ideas and solutions.

The company’s equipment is complemented by fundamental tools to keep creativity alive. The door is always open, come visit us!
